PANAMA CITY TOUR
We will visit:
Duration: 6 hours
Days Available: everyday, but preferably Tuesday through Sunday.
We will start the tour by visiting the Panama Canal, specifically the Miraflores locks. At the Panama Canal we will see the operation of the Canal, inlcuding watching the ships pass through and viewing the workers of the Canal in action.
Following the visit of the Canal we will go to the Amador Causeway. This is a road that links the mainland with three man-made islands built from the excavation of the Panama Canal. The Causeway sits on top of Panama Bay. From here there is an amazing view of the city and the sea. After the tour of the Causeway, we will visit Panama City's Old Quarter Casco Viejo, declared as an World Heritage Site by UNESCO. There we will be visiting some important buildings, including the Canal Museum.
After touring Casco Viejo, we will suggest a good restaurant in the city for lunch. Then we will go to Panama la Vieja a complex of ruins containing some of the oldest structures in Latin America. Panama la Vieja has also been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
